My Story
From the Treatment Room to the Home Office
A licensed esthetician who traded the spa for a standing desk — and figured out how to keep her glow, her body, and her life intact along the way.
Five years ago, I made a decision that felt equal parts exciting and terrifying: I left my career as a licensed esthetician and stepped into the world of IT.
I'd spent years in treatment rooms — studying skin, building routines, helping clients feel confident in their own faces. I loved it. But I also wanted more flexibility, more income stability, and honestly, a new challenge. So I made the leap.
What nobody warned me about was what working from home would do to everything I'd built. My skin — the thing I'd dedicated my career to — started breaking out in ways I hadn't seen since my teens. My posture collapsed. My social life quietly disappeared. I was 'home all day' but somehow more isolated than ever.
The irony wasn't lost on me. Here I was, a skincare professional, watching my skin deteriorate because I'd stopped moving, stopped going outside, stopped having a reason to take care of myself the way I used to.
So I rebuilt it. Slowly, intentionally, and with the same evidence-based approach I'd always applied to skincare. I figured out what actually works for WFH skin. I built movement into my day without a gym. I reclaimed my social life and my hobbies. And I started documenting all of it.
Vyndicated Remote is that documentation. It's proof — five years of it — that you don't have to sacrifice your skin, your body, or your social life to work from home successfully. You just have to be intentional about it.
